Day 1

In the morning departure to Plovdiv.

Accommodation in the hotel.

A walking tour in the Old town of Plovdiv, situated on three hills – Nebet tepe, Dzhambaz tepe and Taxim tepe and preserved as an authentic 19th Century Bulgarian Renaissance open-air museum. Visit of the fortified complex Nebet Tepe, Tracian village on Nebet tepe, architectural complex of the Bulgarian Revival period, St. Konstantin and Elena church and the fortified wall nearby, ancient Roman Amphitheatre, the houses of Nikola Nedkovich, Dimitar Georgiani and Balaban, the Ethnographic museum and the house of Lamartin.

Free time for leisure and shopping.

In the evening – theme dinner with program in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant – "The wine, food and folklore of Bulgaria"


Day 2

Breakfast. Departure for Bachkovo monastery. It is the oldest monastery in Bulgaria, founded in 1083. This is the second in size and importance monastery in Bulgaria. Its architectural, artistic and cultural significance is comparable only with that of the Rila Monastery. It is believed that last patriarch of Bulgaria - Patriarch Evtimii was exiled by the Turks and died here.

Free time for lunch.

Departure to the seaside resort.

Old Town - Plovdiv

    Ancient Plovdiv Architectural Reserve is a well-preserved complex where on a relatively small area visitors can take walks through different historical ages, see ancient buildings adapted to the modern way of life.

The Bachkovo Monastery

    The Bachkovo Monastery "Assumption of the Virgin" is located in the southern part of the village Bachkovo, 10 kilometers south of Asenovgrad.

Plovdiv City

    The town in its present appearance was built around seven hills – the hills of Plovdiv (Plovdiv Tepes) which are an inseparable part of the city's history. Plovdiv is one of the oldest cities in Europe.
